Indian Institute Of Technology – IIT Guwahati which was the organising institute of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 will announce the final results of the exam on 17 March 2018 as per exam calendar will declare its result on 16 March 2017 now in evening.

The GATE exam which is conducted by Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institutes of Technology has emerged as one of the bench mark tests for engineering and science aptitude in facilitating admissions for higher education (MTech/PhD) in IITs, IISc and various other Institutes, Universities and Laboratories in India. GATE results have also been used to choose candidates for various job opportunities in India by various PSUs and other organisations.

With the standard and high quality of the GATE examination in 23 disciplines of engineering and science subjects, GATE identifies the candidate’s understanding of a subject and aptitude and eligibility for higher studies.

GATE 2018 examinations have been conducted from February 3 to February 11 and final answer keys (after challenge) of the test will be uploaded on March 15, 2018

According to the GATE 2018 calendar, results shall be declared on March 17, 2018. But now the result will be declare on 16 March 2018 @06:00 P.M
The results will be available on the official website of GATE 2018. The candidates who have appeared for the test may able to retrieve the results using their registration details.

GATE 2018 is conducted through the collaboration of eight zones.

How To Check GATE 2018 Result : 

The procedure to check GATE result 2018 is given below:

  • Visit the official website of GATE. : Click Here
  • Click on ‘GATE Result’ tab.
  • Enter Registration Number, Roll Number and Date of Birth in the fields provided.
  • Ensure correctness of the entered credentials.
  • After verification, click on ‘Submit’ button.

Details displayed on GATE 2018 Result:

  • Name of the candidate,
  • GATE 2018 Registration Number
  • Examination Paper in which the candidate has appeared
  • Marks out of hundred
  • Qualifying marks for the discipline  

GATE 2018 Score Card

The score card of GATE 2018 will be released on March 17 along with declaration of result. Candidates can download their GATE scorecard 2018 till May 26. The examination authority will not issue hard copies of the scorecards; therefore candidates have to download it within the prescribed dates.

Note: In case any candidate requires a soft copy of their GATE Score Card after May 17, they can get it by paying a fee of Rs.500 (five hundred only) on the GOAPS portal till December 31.

The GATE Score Card 2018 will be released for all candidates, who have secured greater than or equal to the qualifying mark as per their category. The score of GATE 2018 will be calculated based on the actual marks obtained by the candidate for single session papers and normalized marks for multi-session papers.

The GATE 2018 scorecard will have following details-

  • Name of candidate
  • Registration number of candidates
  • Gender
  • Name of Examination Paper
  • Marks secured by candidates out of 100
  • Qualifying marks
  • All India Rank in GATE 2018 (paper in which the candidate appeared)
  • GATE 2018 score

Based on the GATE 2018 score, candidates can either apply for M.E./M.Tech/ Ph.D. admissions in IITs/NITs/CFITs, and other universities in India or recruitment purpose in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like BHEL, GAIL, ONGC, IOCL, etc. Only those candidates who have obtained equal to or more than the specified cut off score (as announced by the PSU) can apply for the declared vacancies. While selecting candidates for academic programmes or recruitment, the concerned authority may take interview, written aptitude test or group discussion apart from GATE 2017 score.
